Van Driver Requirements

Be at least age 22 at time of hire, and have had a license for at least four years.

Possess a valid Washington State driver’s license (a CDL is not required for van drivers).

Be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs up and down stairs. You will be asked to demonstrate this ability during the interview. If you wear heels to the interview, bring comfortable shoes with you.

Pass a Department of Transportation physical exam.

Pass a drug test at hire; random testing with be done throughout your employment.

Pass a criminal background check.

Pass all aspects of Shuttle Express training.

Bring your Department of Motor Vehicles driving record (at least a three-year history) to the interview. You can get your record from any Department of Licensing office or online at


Bus Driver Requirements (in addition to those above)

Possess a CDL (either P1 or P2 endorsement)


Additional Information

Drivers typically work four, 10-hour shifts, with three days off.

Drivers have set schedules, however off times will vary depending on airline flight schedules; drivers may be asked to switch shifts or adjust hours due to business necessity.

Training includes four days in the classroom and two days “on the road” with a trainer.

New van drivers earn between $12.00 and $14.00 per hour, including gratuities.

New bus drivers start at $15.00 per hour.
